Meet Kate and Jess

Hi, I'm Kate, and dogs are a massive part of my life (I have five of them!). I've been a dog trainer for 7 years, including time at a local dog training school running group classes and behavioural one-to-ones.

I set up Suffolk Country Dog Training partly to offer and promote UK Dog Sport, alongside general dog training and behaviour work.

I started my training career with an instructor's course under one of the country's Master Trainers. With this mentor I built up my experience and knowledge across obedience, sports and behaviour work, specialising in reactive dogs. Since then I've continued my professional development with a Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Canine Behaviour through the British College of Canine Studies.

In a previous life I worked with children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. That work included animal-assisted learning, with my Rottweiler, Mason Bear.

I believe that a dog with a job is a happy dog! There's no better feeling for you and your dog than working as a team, and I love helping people connect with their dogs to reach their goals together, whether that's competing or just being a great pet.
